BOA Highly Commended at Health and Safety Excellence Awards

Barretts of Aspley are pleased to announce that they have been recognised as Highly Commended within the Best H&S in Manufacturing Award category at the Health and Safety Excellence Awards which took place on the 11^th April 2019 at the VOX, NEC in Birmingham. The awards celebrate and recognise excellence in safety, health, security and fire across the UK and also recognise the outstanding individuals who have gone above and beyond and continuously exceed standards.   

The Awards, which featured Able Safety as headline sponsor, were attended by over 550 professionals from the health, safety, security and fire safety sectors. More than 200 entries were whittled down to a shortlist across 14 categories by a panel of independent judges.

Tim Else, the chairman commented ‘We were blown away by the quality of entries and are exceptionally grateful to our esteemed independent judges, who had the unenviable task of whittling down more than 200 entries to the shortlists’

The SHE Awards commented that ‘The best health and safety in manufacturing category is designed to recognise a manufacturing premises, which can demonstrate either an exemplary health and safety record or how it has taken significant steps to improve health and safety standards. Entrants must explain how they have ensured the health, safety and wellbeing of anyone who had access to or worked at the premises.’

Barretts of Aspley were among a shortlist of 6 organisations including Hughes Safety Showers and The Bury Black Pudding Company and are delighted to have been recognised as Highly Commended on the night.
